  My family have been members of FBC Linden for 30 years. Pastor Jon Hathorn is a retired Christian High school teacher. His sermons are directly from the Scriptures and he sprinkles it with real life experiences of his life. The congregation usually is steady at about 100 faithful...so it is not a Megachurch, a prosperity message, with high overhead. These people are FAMILY. We love the Lord Jesus Christ, encourage each other to witness for Him, not just in talk but we "walk the walk"- they will know we are Christians by our love....we do out reaches in the community, and when someone needs help WE ARE THERE for them. Visitors are graciously welcomed, and invited back. There are prayer warriors to take it to the cross...Sunday service is 11am. Every first Sunday is "dilly" potluck!!! A time of fellowship. We recognize birthdays and anniversaries for that month...
  We just finished one week of Vacation Bible School (VBS)- over 100 kids age 5 and uo thru 6th grade. It was AMAZING!!!
  If you're looking for an extended loving family, we are here for you. There's no place I'd rather be, on a Sunday morning!!!

  Pastor John yesterday visited the hospice situation here in my living room. While the ill patient slept I had a candid and in-depth conversation with the Pastor about my personal social and theological concerns. He left many cogent and useful thoughts here upon which I have been meditating ever since. The Linden Church should consider itself fortunate to have such a keen psychologist at its helm. He is obviously at peace with himself and his God ---- hence, he is sincere and honestly discusses his insights and experiences. Should you need spiritual guidance or the attention of a fundamentally good man, don't overlook this oasis of kindness along CA-26. Perhaps God works in mysterious ways; but one thing is sure: the Heart is alive and well at the FBC in Linden. [Such is my opinion. I do not profess any religious loyalties.]
